Mission

Catalyst Mentoring is a vision to invest in our city’s youth to invest in our city’s future through the power of mentoring. No one gets to the finish line of life having done something great without the support and guidance of great mentors along the way. Unfortunately, for many kids in our community, there is no one showing up in their story and left to their own problem-solving abilities our youth are repeating the stories that they are seeing with their lives. We envision a future in our community where every young person has a caring adult in their life to help them navigate their path towards a bright future.

School Mentoring

The Catalyst School Mentoring serves students one day a week on their campus during lunchtime. The Catalyst Team recruits, trains, and supports mentors as they meet with students in Shasta and Southern Siskiyou Counties. Mentors are paired with 2 to 3 students in a small group format that allows students to practice their social-emotional skills. The group participates in art or group games while engaging in the Catalyst Character Education Curriculum. This curriculum allows mentors and mentees to explore things like respect, perseverance, and courage while in a safe fun environment.

Population(s) Served

The Catalyst Office Mentoring program kids who attend schools that do not have an existing Catalyst Program. The Catalyst Team recruits, trains, and supports mentors as they meet with kids in our office for one hour a week.
