Mission

The North Georgia LITC is dedicated to helping people and families in Georgia achieve financial independence. Our primary goals are: (1) to become the first, best year-round resource for all types of tax-related assistance for low-income people in our state, (2) to educate our community about important tax issues by conducting accessible, engaging presentations and producing high-quality informational materials, and (3) to establish deep connections to immigrant, refugee, and non-English speaking communities and to provide better in-language access to tax-related resources for non-English speakers.

Low Income Taxpayer Representation

The North Georgia LITC provides direct legal representation to low-income taxpayers in federal income tax and related state tax controversies. This can include representation in the US Tax Court and other federal courts, in IRS administrative procedures, and in other tax-related matters.
