What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Liberation Cat House aims to save the lives of at-risk cats and decrease the occurrence of feline homelessness in Central Florida. This is primarily done through fostering those that are sick and/or medically needy until they are healthy and old enough to be placed in a forever home. All cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped prior to adoption to help end the needless cycle of overpopulation.

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Foster Care Services

Our main focus is to pull at-risk cats & kittens from the local county shelter and to foster them until they are healthy and old enough for adoption. We also seek to find the ideal placement for each animal and screen potential adopters to ensure the best fit.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

We continually aim to grow our organization and expand impact through several facets of operations, which include:
Developing and retaining new foster parents to boost our capacity
Increasing intake and adoption numbers year-over-year
Identifying and executing various fundraising efforts to support our growth

Developing and retaining new foster parents:
In order to ensure top quality care for the animals we take in as well a solid return on the time investment that it takes to train a new foster parent, we have been very intentional in our selection of new foster parents. We conduct a thorough screening process and virtual home visit to establish that someone will be a good fit with our organization. Each new foster parent then receives 1:1 onboarding and support from one of our Directors from the time of intake through adoption. Because of this focus and our supportive approach, we are proud to share that 100% of new foster parents have continued to foster with our organization.

Increasing intake and adoption numbers:
This goal relies heavily on our continued development of new foster parents to expand our capacity. We have also partnered with our local county animal shelter and serve as a known entity for medically needy cats and kittens. Our adoption efforts are focused on promotion via social media, adoption websites, and local events, and we are currently investigating partnerships with local business to hold regular adoption events.

Identifying and executing fundraising efforts:
We are proud to share that around 80% of our revenue comes from individual and corporate donors, and this support has allowed us to increase our impact in recent years. To continue on this path of growth, we have implemented additional strategies, which have included grant applications, limited/specialized merchandise releases, raffles, and partnering with local business for fundraisers. We are continually thinking outside of the box to find new ways of bringing in funding to support our mission.

Liberation Cat House's organizational capacity and capabilities are strong due to our solid culture and leadership, our focus on transparency and integrity, and in key part, due to the grassroots growth and support that we have developed since our inception. In addition, our Board of Directors are key players in the local animal rescue network, which has allowed us to stay connected and relevant in Central Florida.

We have proudly made significant progress over the past 5 years, growing from an organization of 1 to currently having a network of 20 foster parents throughout Central Florida. Our revenue has also increased year-over-year, with our most recent years showing about 48% growth from 2020 to 2021 and 94% growth from 2021-2022. We aim to continue these trends into the coming year and are also investigating the possibility of expanding out of state.
