Doctor Lifeline, Incorporated

Rescue. Hope. Compassion.

Gainesville, FL   |  http://www.DoctorLifeline.org

Mission

Doctor Lifeline recognizes the impact of physician suicide. Reports of 400 U.S. physician suicides per year probably underestimate the actual occurrence rate. These tragic deaths deprive about 1 million patients of their doctor each year. Physicians commit suicide at a rate twice that of the general population. Doctors are more likely to kill themselves than almost any other profession, including highly stressful occupations such as active duty military. We intend to identify and correct the factors contributing to the high rate of physician suicide.

Notes from the nonprofit

Doctors throughout the nation now confront some of the greatest stressors of their careers. It's time to let them know that we have their backs. Your financial and volunteerism contributions will help to save their lives, and in turn improve the health and quality of life of their many patients. Thank you.
