The King's Academy

The King's Academy (TKA) is located in and serves students from South Dallas. The 75215 zip code
includes the community of Bonton and is known for being one of the poorest neighborhoods in Dallas
County. Designated as a "food desert," we know that the area is also an "education desert." Research
demonstrates the correlation between generational poverty and lack of adequate education (Educational
Research, 2011). Many of our students have academic deficiencies and need a school that will assist them
in overcoming obstacles to learning and meeting varied academic needs through differentiated instruction,
smaller classes, family support, and a strong social/emotional program. A Kingdom education helps with
these deficits as it focuses on bringing the home, church, and school into a partnership to train the next
generation.
The King's Academy was founded to help break the cycle of poverty by providing a rigorous, individualized
academic program combined with an effective spiritual and character development plan. TKA provides a
Kingdom education for grades K3-2nd, with the goal of expanding one grade per year.
