Mission
Kassia Society for Music is dedicated to advancing the composition of music by living composers rooted in various past musical traditions, with an emphasis on unknown composers who are struggling against the current academic culture of the avant-garde. The organization promotes a philosophy of music that values traditional aesthetic ideals in an attempt to reconcile and narrow the gulf between audiences' enthusiasm for traditional classical and modern music. Kassia Music, the in-resident ensemble of Kassia Society for Music, dedicates its programming to this philosophy as well as both exploring and shaping the evolving role of classical music in today's culture and society.

Kassia Music
Kassia Music, comprised of string quartet, piano, and clarinet, is the organization's resident ensemble. The group primarily performs works by contemporary composers who incorporate traditional elements into their music as well as works or arrangements of past composers whose music is not frequently played today.
