2022 Volunteer Non-Partisan Poll Challenger Project
In partnership with Promote the Vote’s Election Protection Program, the Voters Ed Fund is launching a full-scale Non-Partisan Poll Challenger and Observer Recruitment Program for the November 8th General Election!
We are committed to recruiting and training volunteers to protect voters’ rights and help keep Michigan’s elections safe, free, fair, and transparent.
Voters Ed Fund’s goal is to recruit 500 volunteers who will observe election administrators and poll workers, and advocate for voters at risk for voter disenfranchisement at the polls. In addition to poll challengers and observers, we will also need volunteers that are interested in and dedicated to the oversight of Absentee Ballot Counting Boards to ensure a smooth, full, and complete count of all absentee ballots.
Nights & Weekends
One way the Voters Not Politicians Education Fund is helping to increase voter participation is by working municipality-by-municipality to increase voters’ early voting options. We launched the “Nights and Weekends” project in 2020, and increased access to the ballot for 707,000 voters in 17 municipalities. In 2022, we are solidifying those wins and expanding our reach into more municipalities.
My City Votes
The Voters Ed Fund is working hand-in-hand with local clerks, mayors, and other trusted community leaders across the state to make sure that voters, especially those in underrepresented communities, know their voting options and have confidence in local and state election systems.
The Voters Ed Fund is increasing voters’ awareness of early voting options including clerk office hours and dropboxes, and empowering voters with accurate and timely information so they can make sure their vote is counted.
My City Votes is a strategic collaboration with city officials and community partners to maximize voter education of key dates and deadlines, and expanded voting services before election day, prioritizing voters with the lowest propensity to vote.
The Voters Ed Fund has identified multiple municipalities with a combined population of approximately 233,000 registered voters.
