Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is not talked about enough. Parents and caregivers are still placing their babies to sleep unsafely. They are using Blankets, Stuffed animals, and even sleeping with their babies in bed with them! The truth is that SIDS is more common than anyone realizes.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our goal is to educate parents and Caregivers about SIDS and to teach Safe sleep practices to prevent another family experiencing what Melissa and Allison experienced with the loss of their boys to SIDS.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Currently we provide all newborn babies born in our local hospitals with a Halo Sleep sack, meant to replace a blanket in the crib, and a book about SIDS. New parents can get Owlet monitors from our website which monitor babies oxygen and heart rate while baby sleeps. We also provide safe sleep and CPR classes free of charge to anyone in our community. lastly we hold and annual SIDS retreat meant to provide support to those mothers who have lost a baby to SIDS.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
we have partnerships with 6 surrounding hospitals where each baby goes home with a sleep sack with our logo and a book about SIDS. Our partnership with Owlet allows us to donate an Owlet to 2 families in need with each donation to receive an owlet from our website.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
we are currently partnered with 6 surrounding hospitals with a long term goal of becoming nation wide and even world wide!

- We disaggregate data to adjust programming goals to keep pace with changing needs of the communities we support.
- We have long-term strategic plans and measurable goals for creating a culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
- We have community representation at the board level, either on the board itself or through a community advisory board.
- We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
