Mission

To foster and develop Hispanic corporate, academic, non-profit, small business, and cultural leaders in Northwest Arkansas (NWA) to empower the community and to influence and shape a diverse and equitable society which will drive continued prosperity and economic, cultural and social development in this region. The Hispanic Leadership Council (HLC) will identify barriers for Hispanic youth and create solutions by leveraging the strengths and connections of Hispanic leaders across different organizations in the region. The HLC will develop an eco-system that focuses on youth development starting in elementary schools through higher education and will also foster professionals civic engagement and entrepreneurship.

NWA Latinx on the Rise Mentoring Program

NWA Latinx on the Rise seeks to develop the next generation of community leaders. The main goals of the program are to encourage college students to get involved in the community and to provide them opportunities to develop networking and leadership skills. Mentors will help students to connect with the area’s stakeholders, and to become familiar with key community organizations, resources and pressing issues. College students from Northwest Arkansas Community College and the University of Arkansas are paired with professionals in the area.
