What Is the Youth Internship Program?
The Block Gives Back is offering a 10-week educational internship program for youth 12-18 years old. The Youth Internship Program will provide the participants with knowledge of nonprofit operations as well as skills to implement their own facet of a TBGB event. Over the 10-week program, participants will acquire skills including program planning, fundraising, marketing, and more through educational workshops. Our hope is to inspire youth to be the change they wish to see by providing them with the resources and tools to be successful in the future. This program combines education, creativity, responsibility, and experience to empower youth.

GOALS:
Educate The Youth: Provide participants with educational material that provides an understanding of the functions of a nonprofit organization while giving each person the chance to apply what has been learned. A variety of nonprofit educational workshops will be held weekly for the participants to learn about fundraising, marketing, event planning, and budgeting for events. Each concept learned will be practiced through resources provided by The Block Gives Back.

Engage The Youth: Participants are encouraged to be creative, speak their voice, and showcase what they have learned through various program milestones and incentives. The curriculum created is hands-on and leaves no student behind as the facilitator provides one on one and group assistance as needed.

Empower The Youth: The program has been designed to engage each participant's unique strengths and abilities. The interns will recognize the value in each lesson as it applies to them. In addition to nonprofit education workshops, self-help workshops including Dress For Success, Formal Communications, and Resume Building will be implemented to teach each participant how the curriculum is applicable to them and designed to help them advance.
