What we aim to solve
Venezuela is having the worst crisis in its history. The problem was born more than 60 years ago, when Venezuelans started to trust on promises of all for free. Venezuela's society got used to the state giving everything for free. This socialism was financed by the oil-revenues but after 60 years of extraction and undermining economic freedoms, this country is having hard-times. Society has to be re-educated. They have to understand what real freedom is. They believe that freedom is go to vote in an electoral process, but they do not understand that economic freedom is the main pilar of the freedom as a whole. Econintech is working for let Venezuelans understand the broad definition of freedom. They need political but also urge of economic freedom.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Venezuela Entrepreneurs
This is a series of workshops where family-groups attend the activities (on-line and/or in the classroom) to learn about how to write and develop a business or social idea.
The Econintech's Fellow-Scholars team organizes these activities to promote teh entrepreneurship in activities that can be done by Venezuelan families and that are sustainable given the real context of the country.
They promote trhough this program the family-based entrepreneurship as a way to keep united the families but also they are interested and teach to thos mono-parental families where the woman is the leader.
Freedom to Choose: The Road to Dignity
Venezuela is suffering the worst humanitarian crisis. Sometimes this is just focused on the economic situation, nevertheless, the fact of having no freedom has buried Venezuelans in infrahuman conditions. Starvation, human trafficking, sex slavery, are just the tip of the iceberg. It is time to reveal the real gains of freedom to Venezuelans, it is not only about economic, the greatest profit that freedom brings to humanity is dignity. Through this project, Econintech’s team will organize 12 lectures, write 24 OpEds, and interview at least 6 Venezuelan residents of other countries where the freedom allows them to live with dignity.
Intellectual Humility: The Solution to the South American Economic Crisis
Intellectual Humility (IH) leads to the improvement of ideas and allows the innovative development of new solutions that from a closed perspective would be impossible to achieve. IH has captured the attention of researchers and scholars who have advanced their studies through projects funded by the Templeton Foundation. However, there are very few analyses using the perspective of IH to study economics;
an important social science that has historically been very divisive and segregationist.
This project fills that gap and begins a line of research that will apply the IH approach to the analysis of recent failures in economic policies in South American (SA) countries. It will answer the following questions: Is it possible to measure the IH in the economic plans of certain SA countries?; Can economic institutions in SA countries be considered intellectually humbled?; What would be the economic policies and legal framework that allow the consolidation of the IH in SA countries?

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
In the context of the worst economic, social and moral crisis of our modern history, and totally aware that the seeds of our progressive destruction are rooted in our contrary-to-market institutions and our culture, a group of professionals in Venezuela decided to join efforts to educate people on the ideals of economic freedom, a concept which is many times misunderstood or purposefully used in a pejorative manner. Our intent was to contribute to such complicated endeavor by 1) creating and providing courses, seminars, workshops, conferences, and diverse activities in universities and schools, for students and for the general public; and 2) moving the knowledge frontiers through our research and publications with renowned scholars in-country and abroad. In order to achieve that, Econintech, a non-profit organization, was initially founded in Venezuela and recently –in sync with our vision and mission– in the USA, this has allowed us to increase our reach and look and work beyond Venezuela.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We deliver all our activities in-classroom but also on-line.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Every day, Econintech struggles with barriers of all kinds to boost entrepreneurship and economic freedom as the most effective mechanisms to reach the much-desired long-lasting prosperity, both as a country and on a personal basis. All our efforts are aligned with promoting the required changes and structural reforms to really free the economy and present the greatness of freedom. In order to achieve such an authentic goal in the most efficient manner, We count on an ad honorem group of collaborators and volunteers, whose valuable help is provided by virtue of their possibilities and availability. According to the last report generated, this voluntary service has approximately amounted 250 hours per month, which represents about 60 percent of the total time spent to make all our events and activities possible every month.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have created a culture of freedom in the Lara State. Currently, micro-business managers know that they have to request and demand freedom and not protectionist policies. They have understood that once the moment of actively demanding for economic freedom is possible, they will start a campaign to reach among others: Monetary Freedom, Entreprenurship Freedom, Open Trade.

- We ask team members to identify racial disparities in their programs and / or portfolios.
- We analyze disaggregated data and root causes of race disparities that impact the organization's programs, portfolios, and the populations served.
- We disaggregate data to adjust programming goals to keep pace with changing needs of the communities we support.
- We employ non-traditional ways of gathering feedback on programs and trainings, which may include interviews, roundtables, and external reviews with/by community stakeholders.
- We seek individuals from various race backgrounds for board and executive director/CEO positions within our organization.
- We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
