What we aim to solve
Being that we are new, we have a few issues we need help to address right at the starting gate. Problem 1. We currently have 7 board members, we need to recruit 2 new board members from the area this coming year who can help us raise money. Problem 2. We are about start to raise monies for our new physical location gallery and to house our radio program as well. We will need to raise 24,000.00 to make this happen. Problem 3. We are looking for underwriters to support our program. We are in the process of bringing on a sales rep to address the underwriter issue. Problem 4. Were currently at 70 stations, and we have a volunteer to help us with calling up public radio stations and college stations who would be interested in airing our show. Problem 5. We need to recruit a volunteer to help us launch our new Latino Shops Business Directory.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Indigenous in Music Radio Show
Every week Larry brings you live interviews and a mix of new music from our Indigenous musicians from around the Western Hemisphere, a variety of rock, pop, country, flute, salsa, classical, house and electronica.
Indigenous in Music is recorded weekly at the Two Buffalo Studio's in Sarasota, Florida and distributed to our flagship station, Native Voice One, the Native America Indian Radio Network and PRX the Public Radio Exchange and Pacifica Audio Port.
A big Pini-Gigi (Thank you) to “SAY Magazine” a international Indigenous magazine for giving Indigenous in Music a mention and for featuring all of our musical guest’s.
The Indigenous in Music Radio Show was developed to support indigenous musicians. After we did our research, we discovered that our indigenous musicians were not getting the exposure needed to get into the mainstream music scene. Host Larry Knudsen, from the Ho–Chunk Nation started the Indigenous in Music Radio Show.
OUR GOAL
To develop and market our show to the radio stations across the states and Canada. We will provide music, and interviews to the general public. We will promote our indigenous musicians and entertainers. Both as host and producer, Larry values the diversity of cultural expression and traditions, fosters the preservation and advancement of diverse musical genres, creates a sense of welcoming and belonging, enhances the enjoyment of life, and celebrates community with great programming.
MISSION
The Indigenous in Music Radio Show mission is to: develop, organize, administer and promote a comprehensive, coordinated music program while providing music and entertainment for the general public to enjoy.
Two Buffalo Art Studios
Our galleries showcase Indigenous artists current and past works, including both traditional, contemporary mediums and styles, drawing connections between our cultures history and our continuous evolution into the future. Creating opportunities for Indigenous artists to showcase their unique work, while providing two new markets to support the artist further.
The Two Buffalo Art Studios will be located in central Sarasota/Bradenton FL. It will be a space to be visited by Florida locals and visitors of all walks of life, showcasing one artist, quarterly which will entail a solo exhibition of 10-20 pieces for a 12-week period to both show and sell their artwork.
The Indigenous in Music and Arts Virtual Gallery, is an original On-line Virtual gallery for Indigenous people. A website to be visited by our listeners, supporters and investors including but not limited to our internet visitors and readers from our business associates such as "SAY" Magazine.

- We employ non-traditional ways of gathering feedback on programs and trainings, which may include interviews, roundtables, and external reviews with/by community stakeholders.
- We use a vetting process to identify vendors and partners that share our commitment to race equity.
- We seek individuals from various race backgrounds for board and executive director/CEO positions within our organization.
- We have community representation at the board level, either on the board itself or through a community advisory board.
- We help senior leadership understand how to be inclusive leaders with learning approaches that emphasize reflection, iteration, and adaptability.
- We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
