LGBT patients have unique health care needs and poorer health outcomes compared to the population at large. All health care providers will see LGBT patients, yet medical trainees consistently report that they lack adequate education in providing excellent care for this population.

Pride in Practice aims to improve LGBT health care by serving as a comprehensive resource for providers seeking to improve care for their sexual and gender minority patients.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Pride in Practice advances LGBT health care education by sharing the latest standards of care, provider perspectives, and patient and advocate stories. We also produce practical resources for providers to use in the clinic and share with patients and colleagues. To promote provider engagement and education, all materials are made available at no cost .

The dedicated team of volunteer editors and contributors at Pride in Practice has extensive experience in LGBT advocacy, education, and patient care.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Since Pride in Practice launched publicly in 2019, thousands of providers have accessed our free articles and clinical resources. The Pride in Practice team looks forward to expanding the quantity, quality, and scope of training materials it provides in order to make the biggest possible impact on LGBT patient care.
