Brooke E. Posey Swim-A-Thon

Our annual fundraiser, Swim for Brooke as it is affectionately known as, started in 2017 after the passing of Brooke at the age of 17. Along with the Southern Yacht Club swim team, the Seagulls, we have raised over $60,000 for local children's charities. Besides swimming laps, there are games, food and a parade of prizes available for anyone to participate. In 2020 we pivoted to virtual, which brought out some very creative swimming! 2021 brings our 5th Annual Brooke E. Posey Swim-a-Thon which will be a celebration like no other. Besides our 2 week virtual event which starts on June 5, 2021, the in-person portion will be held on June 12, which would of been Brooke's 22nd birthday.

Children and youth

#BrookesActsofKindness is a campaign designed to spread kindness to children throughout the New Orleans metro area. Our Little Library Program has grown from purchasing and donating books to other little libraries throughout the area to constructing our very own Little Free Library. Brooke's Kindness Bags are bags full of kindness and fun for children going through some adverse times like being in the hospital to having a sibling in the hospital.
