What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Old, blind, injured/sick horses are cast out once their usefulness to their owners is over. This includes race horses, show horses, Amish horses, etc. They only place they have to go right now is the slaughter house, which over 80K a year end up at. Travellers Rest Farm Sanctuary gives some of those cast out animals a safe landing to live out the remainder of their days.

Goals & Strategy

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Travellers Rest Farm Sanctuary's goal is to provide horses / farm animals with a quiet safe permanent home to live out the remainder of their days.

The strategy to accomplish our goal is to maintain no more than a designated number of animals; offer a quiet permanent home, and maintain their quality of life until their last day.

The Sanctuary is situated on 34 acres off set from any roads. There is adequate pasture, shelter, and support for the animals that reside there. There are no plans to exceed the numbers that can be supported with minimal donations so as not to jeopardize the safe sanctuary of the animals that reside there.

Travellers Rest Farm helps several horses a year find a safe landing from the slaughter pipeline. We plan to continue maintaining the horses we have and helping additional horses/animals when we can.
