Defend Our Children, Inc
"Focused on Health and Safety of Children in Schools"
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Did you know almost 100 children died or were injured from nearly 50 school shootings in 2019? Similar statistics from the years prior. To summarize, we have four main "Problem Topics" we are working to address in schools: -Health and Safety -Mental stability -School Attacker(s) -Fire Alarm Policies -Bullying and Sexual Abuse Policies -Unexpected Inclement Weather
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
National Awareness
Google has graciously donated $10,000 a month to use for googleads. We always revising our online marketing campaign to achieve national awareness.
Smile Amazon
Encourage people to use Smile.Amazon.com in lieu of Amazon.com. If you use Smile.Amazon.com and select our charity then amazon donates a portion of their profits to our charity. Amazon will not charge you additional fees for this donation.
Charity Ebay
Encourage people to sign up with Charity.ebay.com and select us as your charity of choice. Once selected, the next time you go to list an item you can select the "donate a portion to charity" option and donate whatever % you want to our charity.
Why would you donate? Because ebay will push your product to the first few to appear when someone searches your item, feature you in the charity shop and push you to the front of the ebay featured page. That's big bang for buck!

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
We have exclusive rights to manufacturer a patented ballistic safety desk and equip schools with enough desks to defend their children in the event of imminent danger.
By providing a safe space and adjusting existing policies in schools and local law enforcement we can truly minimum the effectiveness of the above "problem topics". Attacking students will become much more difficult with safe space desks. With adjusting fire alarm policies the students have the option to defend in place while the fire alarm is verified. The desks give students a place to protect themselves from Bullying and Sexual abuse. In the event of a tornado or other unexpected inclement weather, the desks give the student a place to take cover and wait for the event to end.
The option of a safe space to take cover and defend in place until first responders arrive is how we increase survival rates.
This safety space created by the desk combined with adapting existing school policies has potential to solve many issues in education: School shootings, Inclement weather, Bullying, and sexual harassment.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Marketing Strategies: We are actively engaged in marketing campaigns to spread the word of this charitable cause. Marketing campaigns are active on platforms such as Smile.Amazon, Charity ebay, GoogleAds, Facebook, Facebook Ads, Instagram, Twitter, Website DOCcharity.com, Newsletters, private messaging, word of mouth, blog posts and general online presence.
Fundraising Strategies: We are seeking donations through online marketing strategies, Grants and Investors.
Product Strategies: The desks are given to schools for free. We all have heard of the small to nonexistent budgets that school face every year. The charity was made so we can come together as a nation and provide these life changing desks to schools at no cost to the school.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Our team's successful careers in fields such as engineering, research and development, manufacturing, explosives, team building,
management and leadership are the highlights of our capabilities.
Todd was born in New York and started his career as a machine technician in 1973. He soon switched career and found success in the Aerospace Composites Research and Development industry. After retiring from Aerospace, he joined his local Sheriff's department where he enjoyed his second career as a police officer and School Resource Officer. He is the primary inventor of the defense safety desk which is his sixth patent. Todd's several careers have focused on engineering, research and development, manufacturing, management, leadership and team building.
Donald found himself in the Construction Industry by demolishing houses after Hurricane Katrina hit his home town. Soon after his hometown got back to normal, he joined the ARMY and went to college for Building Construction Science. After graduating College, he commissioned as an ARMY Engineer Officer and started specializing in project management for healthcare buildings ranging from $10M-$50M. Donald's Military and Civilian careers focus on fields like engineering, explosives, management and leadership.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Student Safe Space Desks: Our progress so far consist of a finished computer generated model. A prototype has been built. First articles are in the pipeline and then testing to achieve protection ratings.
Case Studies: Case study work must take place. Case studies including existing policies and revised policies for schools, law enforcement, fire alarm responses, and bullying/sexual abuse. These studies require a team of law enforcement, school administration and our charity personnel.
Grants: We are actively applying for testing and hardening grants. Grants are a huge part of our nonprofit work.
