What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Animal Welfare and Sheltering
We provide sheltering and spay/neuter services for animals that enter the shelter as well as adoption of animals (mainly cats and dogs) into forever homes. We will adopt to any family that is the right fit for an animal regardless of location.
Humane Community Education
Our Community Education program consists of three arms.
RASE (Regional Animal Shelter Educates) is a combination of in-school seminar (all ages) and in-shelter internship programs (13-16 years) which strives to educate the youngest among us about proper animal care, animal welfare, and shelter animals.
Our Community Education program consists of free seminars and information for the community about animal care and training, as well as information about spotting and reporting animal neglect and abuse.
Our Law Enforcement and Animal Specialist Education program consists of free seminars and training which provides Law Enforcement, animal care specialist (Veterinarians, shelter professionals and volunteers, animal care professionals), and legal professionals the information, tools, and resources that they need to successfully investigate and prosecute animal cruelty cases. These trainings are open to any professional in NYS.
Cruelty Investigation and Prevention
Assisting local law-enforcement agencies with animal cruelty investigations, as well as partnering with local law-enforcement and public agencies on assisting and educating at-risk individuals about animal care.
Volunteer Program
Interested teens, adults, and seniors make up the backbone of our 100% volunteer-run shelter. Volunteers are responsible for day-to-day animal care, as well as all programs, events, fundraising, site maintenance, and administrative tasks.
