Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Peak Vista Community Health Centers
Peak Vista provides care to over 94,000 low-income, uninsured, indigent, and underserved patients, including the homeless. Peak Vista's services include an array of support services that include pharmacy, laboratory, health education, specialty care referral, 24-hour nurse triage, and well-child waiting areas for children with parents or siblings visiting care providers. We also offer low-vision services for people with degenerative eye diseases. Peak Vista also provides the First Visitor program which is a home visitation program for new or expectant parents that provides information about early childhood development, community resources and a free gift for your baby by one of our caring and trained volunteers.
First Visitor
Birth to age 3 are magical years in a baby's life. Our First Visitor program provides free, one-on-one support for moms and dads in the comfort of their own home. We provide emotional support, connect parents and caregivers with free community resources and share information on health, nutrition, safety and important developmental milestones. First Visitor partners with Bright by Three, a statewide organization that provides our evidence-based materials and together our purpose is to help make Colorado the best place to raise a child under the age of three.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Peak Vista is an organization focused on enhancing the health of people and the community-at-large through a professional, caring staff that are motivated, enthusiastic, respectful, energetic and committed to strategic partnerships. Peak Vista wants to ensure that everyone has access to affordable medical, dental and behavioral health care close to home. Peak Vista is dedicated to creating healthier lives and communities by bridging the health care gap and affordability.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Over 900 dedicated health care providers, clinical support staff and administrative professionals are committed to providing our patient-centered, quality care approach. Peak Vista’s mission is also supported by volunteers, partner agencies, grantors and donors. Peak Vista does this by providing accessible health care where it is needed most.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Peak Vista offers an integrated approach to health care which focuses on whole-person care; medical, dental and behavioral health. Peak Vista is a leading advocate and health care provider for individuals and families with limited access to quality care in the Pikes Peak and East Central regions of Colorado. Peak Vista is dedicated to creating healthier lives by bridging health care and innovation to meet the needs of our communities. We have been providing high-quality, compassionate care since 1971. Today, Peak Vista proudly serves over 94,000 patients annually throughout 26 outpatient centers.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Peak Vista has been serving this community, since 1971. We have grown to serve 94,000 patients annually, seeing nearly 1,300 patients each day, throughout 26 health centers offering medical, dental and behavioral health care.
In early 2018, we introduced an integrated behavioral health care approach by providing behavioral health care to every patient at every visit, dental and medical both. This has also enabled us to provide depression screenings at every pediatric appointment.
Peak Vista was the recipient of a grant in April 2018, which allowed us to integrate dental into our Pediatric Health Centers. This allows us to provide preventive dental care to children and begin teaching them the importance of oral health at a young age.
As part of its commitment to improving patients’ quality of life through effective pain management, Peak Vista opened its Pain & Wellness Center in October of 2018. Around 4,800 Peak Vista patients have been identified as having a diagnosis of chronic pain. This program seeks to provide access to adjunct therapies including behavioral health therapy, physical therapy, massage, chiropractic, acupuncture and yoga, in place of or in addition to pharmacologic treatment.
Our integration of school-based health centers within local schools has increased many students’ and their siblings’ access to health care. Research shows that attention to health and wellness translates to higher academic success for students. A current trend across the region and nation is to find community-based health centers co-located within a community’s school.
