Our programs

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Rebuilding Together Pikes Peak Region has developed the following programs to address the home repair and modification needs of low-income, disabled, and senior homeowners in our community. - Aging In Place Program - According to the AARP, the number one reason why seniors need to move to a nursing home is because of a serious fall in their home. Aging in Place is a year-round program in which volunteers install grab bars, door scopes, repair flooring and plumbing, and make minor repairs to the homes of people over 60. These modifications make it possible for elderly homeowners to remain in their homes and live independently longer, preventing an emotional and costly move. Priority is given to low-income seniors, but anyone over 60 qualifies for this program. Rebuilding Together Pikes Peak Region hopes to help 150 families in 2004 through the Aging in Place Program. - Pikes Peak Ramp Project - Simply getting in and out of the house is often difficult for disabled and senior homeowners. The Pikes Peak Ramp Project addresses the access problems of homeowners by building ramps, installing handrails, or repairing stairs, walkways, and porches. Wheel chair ramps give disabled homeowners the capability to enter and leave their homes, allowing them to live independently. These ramps are constructed so that they can be moved to another home when no longer needed. We hope to give 24 homeowners independent access to their homes though this program in 2004. - Safe @ Home - We are very excited to launch a new program in 2004, called Home for all Seasons. Many people come to us needing home maintenance work done such as plumbing, flooring, painting, electric work, and gutter repair, but they cannot afford it or are unable to do the work themselves. The Home for all Seasons program provides home repairs that are necessary for the warmth, safety, and independence of disabled or low-income homeowners.
