Our programs

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

We have five properties: two men's homes and two women's homes. We have space for up to seventy-two single residents and space for up to three single moms with up to three children each. Our primary program is to offer clean and safe and sober living. Our homes have structure with rules and living guidlines, however, our rules are designed to foster self accountability and self responsibility. All of our residents are accountable to themselves as well as each other. Residents must pay rent ($350/mo0, find and maintain employment, abide by curfew, attend meetings, actively pursue recovery, and of course zero tollerance policy for use of drugs, alcohol, theft and verbal or physical abuse.

All of the revenue generated by residents paying rent is put right back into the homes - pay mortgage, utilities, phone, maintenance, etc.

Each house has two managers that live in the house and were residents themselves. It is on a voluteer basis. The only compensation resident managers recieve is a reduction in rent. We choose managers based on how they have done in the home as residents. They must show a strong commitment to recovery, have integrity and the respect of their fellow housemates, have worked a strong 12 step program, have a minimum time of continuous sobriety, lead by example, and may not be money motivated.

We have found that for individuals who seek recovery without living in a "sober living home" the chances are approximately one in forty-five will remain clean and sober for the rest of their lives. For people who come to live in a "sober living home" as a part of recovery, the odds increase to approximately one in twelve remaining clean and sober for the rest of their lives.
