TEAMMATES FOR KIDS FOUNDATION

DENVER, CO   |  WWW.TEAMMATES4KIDS.COM

Mission

Quite simply, Teammates for Kids exists to do everything we can to help kids.  It's that simple and that important!  We focus on helping children in the areas of health, education, and inner-city outreach. We do that in a number of ways, from funding Child Life Zones for pediatric hospital patients, to raising money for youth sports leagues, to paying for complicated facial and dental surgeries.  We accomplish our goals by partnering professional athletes, corporations, and celebrities, and now, for the first time, individuals from the private sector. Professional athletes generously donate based on performance levels in their sport.  A great pitcher, for example, might pledge a donation for every strikeout, a quarterback for completions, a hockey goalie for saves, a basketball player for free throws, etc.  Then, the foundation's Board, made up of Hall of Fame athletes, corporation owners, corporate officers, and entertainers, triples the amount donated by each athlete.  Because the foundation's overhead expenses are privately funded, 100% of all money donated goes to the kids.  That's not the goal . . . it's the rule!

Child Life Zone Project

A Child Life Zone is a state-of-the-art, therapeutic play area inside a hospital where pediatric patients and their families can play, learn, laugh, and relax. A sanctuary. A place to learn. A hang-out. A game center. A place to be the star of your own show. A place to connect. A place where a kid can be a kid.
Each zone is staffed by child life specialists, certified professionals who help children and their families cope with difficult medical challenges through play, education, and self-expression.  Child life specialists teach patients about their illness and what to expect during treatment, and they provide support to patients and their families before, during, and after procedures.
