Inspiring young musicians today, preserving jazz for tomorrow
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
We are in the process of expanding, providing our services to more children in a variety of communities. Right now, most of our work (teaching, admin, grant writing, marketing, fundraising etc.) is performed by me - Barry Cogert. While I am able to find and train teachers our biggest problem is finding, with the means to afford, someone with non-profit office management experience.

What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
After a board retreat, we created an org chart to divide up and organize a plan to achieve the goals above
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Over the last 8 months we have had a major change in board leadership. Our new board has much more board and business experience. We have hired a part time admin staff and two other teachers to remove some of Barry's work load, allowing him to focus more on program growth and outreach.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
In the last 8 months we have eliminated all past due IRS fines and late fees, all bills and payroll taxes are paid and current
We have been accepted as vendors to 3 more homeschool organizations
We are more prepared for our performances
What's next:
To have a compressive handbook for new Artist in Residence trainees and guest artists so all programming is consistent
To have a music booklet for students in school district programs
To have our strategic plan
To confirm the Jazz Angels brand
