Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Our need is to be able to supply funds to families so they can attend TAPS events. So many times, these events are held in their State but they do not have the money to afford gas, bus or airfare to attend the event. Our goal is to ensure that ALL Gold Star Families have the ability to attend these life changing events.
Our programs

Cole's Comrades Peer Support

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
The goal of Cole's Comrades is to provide funds to help Gold Star Families the help they need for transportation costs to attend TAPS events. So many of our Gold Star Families do not have the funds to cover their travel expenses to attend the events that are held in areas that they may need to travel to. We would like to offer them gas cards, bus tickets or airline tickets so they can attend these amazing retreats TAPS offers all over the United States. It is vital for the healing of these families to connect with TAPS so they can begin their journey of healing and hope.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Fund raising and donations. We have contacted local restrauants that will help us to organize dates and they will donate a portion to Cole's Comrades so we can then offer to help families with transportation costs to TAPS events
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Cole's Comrades is founded in Kern County. Our county is know to be one of the largest areas that honor and remember our Veterans. We have partnered with Comrades and Canopies, Honor Flight Kern County and Portrait of a Warrior.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have reached over 110 families throughout the United States and guided them to TAPS and local healing programs in their States.
