HBCU 20x20 is the worlds largest network for HBCU and Black job seekers. We relentlessly pursue opportunities for others because when we all work together, any and everything is possible. Born from the idea that students at HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) deserved the same job opportunities and career resources as those at Ivy League Institutions, the company was founded as a social enterprise in 2017 with the goal of employing 20,000 HBCU students by year 2020. Since then, we’ve grown exponentially, to a quality over quantity approach with over 25,000 members. The HBCU 20x20 Foundation aims to close the access, skills and opportunity gap by ensuring the HBCU and Black community are prepared and connected to career opportunities through the HBCU 20x20's services. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, 71% of undergraduates at HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and University) are Pell Grant eligible, demonstrating a larger financial need to start and complete their degrees, compared to other institutions, and more than 50% are first generation college students. Navigating college as a first-generation college implies that one may be a first- generation professional, which demonstrates a greater need to be prepared for career opportunities.

HBCU 20x20 Mock Interview Days

The HBCU 20x20 Foundation's Mock Interview Program provides direct professional development to the HBCU and Black community through virtual practice interviews, in addition to providing resources on networking and career exploration during the spring and fall semesters.

Each interviewee completes an orientation that details the basic skills of interviewing and are matched with professional volunteers from our corporate partners to participate in a mock interview.

Volunteers provide direct feedback to ensure participants are able to learn and grow.

HBCU Tech FORWARD//, our tech accelerator program exclusively for HBCU students.

This paid 8-week program explores the hard and soft skills needed for 50 students to succeed in tech through weekly workshops, while providing participants with an opportunity to interview for Summer and Fall 2022 internships and full-time opportunities with our company partners.

It's imperative for HBCU students to use the knowledge gained inside and outside of the classroom to secure careers in the field of tech, and HBCU 20x20's Tech FORWARD// program is dedicated to moving students ahead, while working with companies who share our same commitment to improving the diversity in tech pipeline.

Born from the idea that students at HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) deserved the same job opportunities and career resources as those at Ivy League Institutions, the company was founded as a social enterprise in 2017 with the goal of employing 20,000 HBCU students by year 2020.

Since then, we’ve grown exponentially, to a quality over quantity approach with over 25,000 members. Today, we own a recruiting platform to share opportunities with our more than 250 corporate partners. Our HBCU 20X20 Foundation serves students and alumni from all 105 HBCUs with professional development resources needed to succeed.

Our Shared Values are more than just writing on a wall and trends. These values are the fabric of our company and are rooted in the social justice foundation of every team member and partnership of HBCU 20x20.

Our values are:

LIBERATION: We believe in a world free of oppression and barriers that prevent success.

INNOVATION: We intend to shatter glass ceilings and push the boundaries of what is possible through programming and community.

BLACKNESS: We understand the dynamics of intersectionality and that Blackness comes in many forms.

COMMUNITY: We believe it takes a village of volunteers, employers, and allies to provide for the HBCU and Black community.

By 2030, we aim to accomplish ensuring 100 ,000 people in the HBCU and Black community have the resources to achieve full and productive employment and decent work and equal pay for work of equal value

We also aim to promote development-oriented policies that support productive activities, decent job creation, entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation, and encourage the formalization and growth of micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises, including through access to resources provided by our partners.

We aim to build an intergenerational ecosystem that provides room for all to learn and for opportunities to be distributed equally.

HBCU 20x20 is uniquely positioned within our community. We maintain relationships with current students, administrators, faculty, educators, alumni and community partners to ensure we are able to work collectively to build our community and connect them to quality career opportunities.

2,317 people have been placed into job and internships.

125 students have successfully completed our HBCU 20x20 Tech FORWARD// program placing them to career opportunities in tech.

1,998 students have successfully completed our HBCU 20x20 Mock Interview program, and 35 employers have partner with us to conduct those emails.
