The corporation was founded to address the increasing international inquiries for public comprehension and accessibility of Scottish genealogy, related history and cultural impact. Presently, there isn’t any collective or coordinated definitive reference source(s) with authentication/verification/security policies for such information or its accessibility by the global public. Additionally, there are vast amounts of unverified and/or erroneous information globally available that are irresponsibly circulated by uninformed inquirers.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Comprehending and appreciating Scottish genealogy and Scottish contributions to society as a whole are revealed by researching, collecting and revealing the global Family ancestral origins and contributions through social, educational and cultural programs for the benefit of the worldwide public and its future generations.

MINGUS Inc. is aware of the enormous amount of this circulating misinformation, the huge gaps of missing and accurate information, and isolated pockets of information around the world. MINGUS Inc. intends to correct these situations by providing accurate and verified information through a variety of methods and procedures and locate this information in a reliable, secure database and a definitive, comprehensive reference catalogue for easy global access through a variety of platforms.

-The project will utilize the international WikiTree platform with its internationally-accepted privacy guidelines and security measures to publish the reconstructed lost ancestral family connections obtained from DNA and conventional research and endeavor to develop a comprehensive understanding and appreciation of Scottish genealogical origins.

- Presently, two directors of the corporation are collecting, researching and publishing the verified genealogical records.
Two different directors are collecting, analyzing and publishing the DNA profiles obtained from FamilyTree DNA and other DNA testing facilities.
All the above directors will serve as group administrators for The Mingus Project on WikiTree.

Additionally, two directors will pursue funding by individual solicitation, foundation grants and corporate charitable funding opportunities. All funding inquiries and receipts will be tracked and reviewed weekly as needed.
- The corporation will engage in fundraising for financial support through a variety of means within U.S. state and federal as well as applicable international guidelines. Individual donations and bequests, sponsorships, granting foundations, and corporate donations will be receipted and utilized per industry standards to support the activities of the corporation. As corporation administrative expenses are minimal, it is expected that the vast majority of received funds will be utilized to support the corporation’s charitable purposes.

The corporation has published a webpage, and also operates two specific Free Space Pages within WikiTree regarding our objectives and accomplishments.

We are currently working in design to produce a …. Character that we can use within marketing and educational materials, which we will publish on our website and offer for sale via electronic document download. This will help us to market the need to collect and record the disparate information that currently exists.
Database development of an overall catalogue to record all Menzies related documents, photographs, etc. indicating their locations etc. To be stored and located in both electronic and paper-based format (within a National Library able to be accessed by the public and researchers in the future).
