What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Social Distance-SING!
HALO's mobile concert series brings live performance to the community. Known fondly as 'a pair of singers, a piano, and a pickup truck', these concerts provide an up-close experience of opera and classic musical theatre selections featuring un-amplified voices in an open air setting.
Walking Tour of Charleston's Opera History
This 90-minute walking tour through the heart of historic downtown makes stops at iconic locations, including the home of the playwrights Dorothy and Dubose Heyward, and the spot where opera was first performed in America. Offered on bi-monthly Saturdays throughout the year, this curated adventure is led by a licensed City of Charleston tour guide and gives patrons the opportunity to experience the Holy City from a new perspective.
Productions & Concerts
Ranging from large-scale to intimate, professional performances of operas, musicals and art song thrill and delight Charleston audiences. Staged in both theaters and unconventional spaces, HALO strives to create quality artistic experiences that are accessible to everyone.
It's Opera. For y'all.®
