Physics Based Modeling

Physics based modeling using the worlds fastest supercomputer. Key to understanding the ALS Disease mechanism is figuring out the physical workings of ALS cellular pathology. The initial focus will be on the formation of the aberrant TAR DNA-binding protein 43 (TDP-43) inclusions or clusters that transition into pathological, amyloid-like fibrils. This clustered form of TDP-43 is present in over 95% of ALS patients and will be the initial focus of modeling simulations.
