Delta Project Conversations
Delta Project Conversations provides adolescents, who have been or are at risk for being engaged with the juvenile justice system, the opportunity to produce and shoot a video production of an interview with a community member. Working closely with professionals, participants learn, practice, and execute roles on an interdisciplinary video production team. Participants have the full responsibility to work collaboratively to complete all aspects of the production, requiring individual competence in a unique production skill and accountability to the video production team of peers and professional experts.
Boys to Men-tors
Boys to Men-tors utilizes a support group style framework to help boys ages 15-18, who have been or are at risk for being engaged with the juvenile justice system, learn skills to navigate their life circumstances and begin to envision their future. Participants gather once a week for four hours to explore topics that help them learn to articulate their thoughts and feelings and better understand themselves and their relationships with family and friends. Activities are intentionally designed to help participants recognize personal strengths, enhance social skills, learn how to cope with stressful and pressured situations, and build resiliency. Ultimately, participants engage in meaningful and supportive relationships and to learn to support one another.
Future Skills - Digital Editing
The Future Skills - Digital Editing program is a six-week experience that helps adolescents, who have been or are at risk for being engaged with the juvenile justice system, both learn digital editing skills utilizing the Adobe Creative Suite and build the community of support they need to overcome challenges as they work towards a productive future.
Young Father's Initiative (Y-Fi)
Y-Fi provides tailored parenting support, family planning, and sexual and reproductive education to young fathers involved in the juvenile justice system. The Young Father Initiative (Y-Fi) fosters protective factors that are known to reduce the risk of teenage pregnancy and STI transmission so that young dads can achieve optimal health, improve family relations and co-parenting, and improve overall fatherhood skills.
Y-Fi uses an evidence-informed intervention curriculum, entitled Son to a Father (STAF), that deconstructs traditional ideals of masculinity, sexual risk-taking, and parenting, while fostering protective factors to reduce teen pregnancy.
