What we aim to solve
Since 1872, 10 percent of the world’s natural areas have been protected by government parks and conservation programs. But according to scientists, that’s still not enough. To avoid massive extinctions and fight climate change, at least another 10 percent of the world’s natural areas need to be protected within 50 years. That’s an impossible target for governments to achieve when most of the world’s environmentally diverse areas are on private industrial properties that do not focus on conservation.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Grow Jungles Reserve
Grow Jungles rainforest reserve will create a launching pad to prepare generations of future conservation leaders through experiential learning and community building by adapting to the fast pace of technology and applying real-world solutions in conservation.
Conservation, sustainability, rewilding, and truly preserving biodiversity require a modern approach and democratization of the technical skillset of those willing to take on the task. By mobilizing the surrounding community and utilizing crowdsource technology, data, and skill set, we can make Costa Rica the leader in advanced technology in a tropical rainforest.
Grow Jungles seeks to build the community and adopt technology, such as Big Data, Machine Learning, and alternative energy sources (solar) while educating and providing technological resources. In addition, we aim to develop a tropical medicine facility to treat emergencies while educating the community about tropical medicine.

Camera Trap
Setting up cameras traps in strategic locations around the country in order to study the biological corridors and its wildlife crossing.
Reforestations
Broad Refrorestion campaigns around the country
Local Conservation Program
Grow Jungles will ensure participation in at least one conservation program within the community, which will also promote economic growth by employing local residents. Possible programs include, but are not limited to, rewilding and supporting local initiatives.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
We are working on many fronts. We accomplish conservation by helping landowners protect and preserve the natural integrity of the properties that they sell – conservation through individual privatization. This new realistic approach has proven to be one of the best models for conservation.
We are also assisting communities to create an eco-based economy, while preserving rainforests, protecting endangered wildlife, and reintroducing endangered species.
Our goal is to eventually expand the biological corridors that connect with National Parks. We hope to eventually own and operate a few Grow Jungles reserves as working models.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Conservation begins by bridging the gap between sellers and purchasers so that both parties understand and agree on the future of the land.
Grow Jungles expands the market for landowners wanting to sell. Without our help, many landowners might have no other options except to sell their properties to one of the many agricultural giants that produce palm oil or other products.
Unfortunately, this type of land use is extremely destructive to the rainforest and its creatures. When a forest is cleared for agriculture use, it creates habitat loss and floods. After it’s cleared, the vegetation is burnt to unlock soil nutrients. This leads to further destruction by creating nutrient-deficient, acidic soils.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We have many local volunteers working on the ground. We have used previous research models of Costia Ricas Corridors provided by the government.
We are also assisting communities to create an eco-based economy, while preserving rainforests, protecting endangered wildlife, and reintroducing endangered species.
Advocating conservation, preservation, and sustainability.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We are in the early stages of our organization. We are very proud of our online presence as well as in some communities in Costa Rica.
We have been able to assist former ranchers to become guides through the mountains and waterfalls. This allowed them a stream of income that was sustainable and more reliable.
We recently launched our website in 2020. We are a dedicated and passionate group when it comes to conservation and environmental education.
As we progress with Grow Jungles, we will update all our accomplishments.

- We employ non-traditional ways of gathering feedback on programs and trainings, which may include interviews, roundtables, and external reviews with/by community stakeholders.
- We have long-term strategic plans and measurable goals for creating a culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
- We have community representation at the board level, either on the board itself or through a community advisory board.
- We help senior leadership understand how to be inclusive leaders with learning approaches that emphasize reflection, iteration, and adaptability.
- We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
