Cassie's Cats

Mission

The primary purpose of Cassie’s Cats, Inc. is to place rescued cats and kittens into safe, loving, permanent homes. The specific objectives and purpose of this organization shall be: *Socialize rescued cats and kittens to help them get adopted more quickly. *Educate the public about the benefits of adopting rescued cats and kittens versus buying from breeders. *Educate the public about the importance of spaying/neutering companion cats and kittens. *Educate the public about caring for neonatal kittens (“bottle babies”).

Notes from the nonprofit

In 2020 our focus was on fundraising so that we can open a lounge and adoption center in Ventura, CA. COVID-19 shutdowns have delayed our ability to open but we remain optimistic that the time to do so safely will arrive in 2021. We aimed to raise at least $10,000 in 2020 to help us with projected expenses (retail leases are not cheap in midtown Ventura). We appreciate the support of our donors and look forward to opening later this year!

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

We help homeless cats and kittens find safe, loving, permanent homes. We work with shelters and rescues to identify cats and kittens who may do well in our lounge environment. We also support local TNR efforts (trap-neuter-return) to help reduce suffering in feral cats as well as the overall cat overpopulation.

We run a lounge and adoption center that potential adopters can visit to meet and interact with the cats and kittens in our care. We maintain our web site and stay active on social media to help ensure prospective adopters have the best chance of seeing our cats and kittens. We also keep things up-to-date for donors and supporters.

To date, we have 145 adoptions. We typically house 10-15 cats and kittens in the lounge at any one time. We have relationships with several shelters and rescues as well as with a few reputable trappers. Many of our volunteers are also happy adopters who feel good about helping the organization.
