What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Volunteer puppy raising is an extremely rewarding experience through which volunteers get to raise and train future assistance dogs. Many volunteer puppy raiser programs leave the volunteer responsible for basic puppy expenses such as dog food, toys, supplies, and sometimes even vet bills. These expenses can be financially burdensome for low-income volunteers, those not made aware of the true costs, and those facing emergency circumstances. Many volunteers raising future assistance dogs without understanding the larger impact they are able to have on the whole assistance dog industry. Additionally, volunteer puppy raisers can lack community support in their raising and training efforts, a need that can be supported through online communities & resources.

Raiser Relief & Puppy Starter Kits

Pawsible provides financial assistance to volunteer puppy raisers through our partners and affiliate groups. We assist volunteers with common puppy-raising expenses such as dog food, vet bills, and other puppy supplies on a need-basis. Eligible volunteer puppy raisers apply for assistance and awards are distributed based on expressed need, what is covered by the volunteer's parent organization, and Pawsible's available resources.

Economically disadvantaged people

Pawsible provides small scholarships for college and university students who are volunteer puppy raising while in school. Scholarship recipients are determined through a combination of financial need and applicant's responses to short answer questions. Some scholarships each year are reserved for underrepresented demographics in the puppy-raising community.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

At Pawsible we believe in a life of service to others and the value of canine companionship. We imagine a world where anyone can find their best selves in the connections and greater purpose gained through raising future assistance dogs. Our purpose is to make the raising of future assistance dogs more accessible and equitable for all.

We seek to make volunteer puppy raising less of a financial burden and to lower the social and income barriers to this amazing service opportunity. To do so we provide a financial safety net for those in financial distress or for when emergencies arise, and our goal is to expand our financial support efforts to all puppy raising programs.

Our goal is to support positive change and growth in these areas through our community efforts. More broadly, Pawsible is a resource to the already existing puppy raising and assistance dog communities. Our goal is to connect those across the assistance dog community and be the driving force behind the community's long-term development.

Pawsible operates financial assistance and scholarship programs to help offset the costs of puppy raising for those in need or who would otherwise not be able to be a volunteer puppy raiser. Our financial programs acutely address the financial needs of these volunteers and our community programs assist the community long-term. We seek to lower the financial barriers to volunteer puppy raising while also addressing the inequities in the assistance dog and dog-related industries.
