Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Four Winds Recovery Center seeks to accomplish creating a healthier community by treating those suffering from substance abuse and co-occurring mental health issues. We aim to increase the number of people we can provide services to and decrease the wait list for those needing residential care. Additionally, we seek to expand our intensive outpatient and outpatient program as well so that we may facilitate recovery and wellness for individuals and families served. We seek to increase the number of people who are employed, supporting their families financially and emotionally. We seek to decrease the number of people affected by the symptoms of substance use disorders including domestic violence, neglect and abuse of children, incarceration, crimes against against people and businesses, and emergency room visits.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Some of the strategies that Four Winds Recovery Center will utilize to achieve our goals include increasing organizational presence in the local community as well as increasing our online presence. In doing so we may be able to increase the our visibility to donors. We will also utilize grant writing in order to achieve both small and larger funding goals. Additionally, we will apply to become a Medicaid provider and partner with the Managed Care Organizations in New Mexico to increase funding and increase the number of people we can provide services too. Finally, we will seek out new contractual relationships with tribal entities to increase funding and services.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Four Winds Recovery Center has recently hired a case manager who is highly skilled with social media. This individual is increasing our online presence through Facebook and our website. Additionally, we have at least one staff member who can dedicate several hours per week to search for and write grant proposals. We are in the process of becoming a Medicaid provider and in the early stages of seeking accreditation. As the only residential treatment provider in a 150 mile radius we should be successful in reaching out to tribal entities for contracting.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have accomplished increasing our online presence on Facebook through increased activity. We have successfully held our first fundraiser, a quilt raffle, through which ticket sales were made online and in person. We increased our community presence by participating in the local Christmas parade via a float -- we distributed 500 agency brochures. Additionally, staff members have made presentations to the Rotary Club and we will be participating in a health fair next month.
