Mission

Season of Justice (SOJ) is a nonprofit dedicated to providing funding to investigative agencies and families to help push their unsolved cases closer to resolution. By providing grants for DNA analysis, such as forensic genealogy and next-gen sequencing, SOJ strives to bridge the funding gap preventing agencies from accessing resources that could help solve these complex cases. SOJ also works directly with families to fund comprehensive awareness campaigns and other initiatives that can push their unsolved cases forward.

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

DNA Grant Program

The Season of Justice, DNA Grant Program supports victims of unsolved violent crimes by funding various types of advanced DNA testing, including forensic genetic genealogy requested by investigative agencies, and conducted by private third-party entities to assist in resolving such cases.

Season of Justice does not fund adult Doe cases where the investigative goal is limited to identifying the victim.

Population(s) Served

Our family grant program partners with victims' families to fund comprehensive awareness campaigns and other initiatives that can assist in pushing their cold cases forward. By utilizing the latest out-of-home marketing tools to supplement traditional billboard campaigns, including targeted mobile advertising, Season of Justice is continuously looking to leverage technology in creative ways to keep media attention on unsolved cases.
