Bringing the Power of Technology to Sobriety

Moraga, CA   |  https://upendo.io/

Mission

The team at Upendo is a diverse group of individuals with deep compassion for all things Upendo. We pursue our work with love and affection just as the name connotes. A team born from early childhood abuse, adversity, trauma, alcohol, and substance abuse, with the resolve to broadcast that simply because too many don’t. We are working professionals with complementary skill sets and backgrounds. We have all been affected in some way by the pain and anguish that alcoholism and addiction brings. We move forward knowing that we are all in this together, and hope these projects make a difference.

What we aim to solve

At Upendo, we are passionate about using technology to support long-lasting sobriety. By applying patent-pending quantified-self tools with new user experience and machine learning algorithms, we can track patterns, trends, and anomalies by time and location. The person in recovery is often not aware of subtle changes that can take them off-course. By identifying those changes early and bringing the right resource to help, we believe we can help you on your path to sobriety.

Upendo

Our first contribution is a concerted effort to bring a powerful, robust, relapse prevention app to market. Millions of people, have either been directly affected by or struggling with alcohol and chemical dependency issues. It will take passion, technology, and a strong community to help humanity break free from addiction.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Relapse is the single most difficult aspect to manage when facing drug and alcohol dependency issues. The key to success is catching the relapse upfront, prior to a full relapse episode. We use technology to enable individuals struggling with alcohol and chemical dependency issues to become more aware in real-time, of the hidden dangers that lead to relapse. Our goal is simple - prevent relapse.

We team with technology and addiction experts to bring the latest technology to identify relapse clues. We enable a community or network for people so that help is proactively available.
