Mission

The mission of Keeping Children Safe USA is to PREVENT cruelty to and abuse of children, and to generally protect children by developing and promoting robust and comprehensive international child safeguarding standards that peer organizations should follow. The globally recognized Keeping Children Safe standards are now used widely in all sectors to ensure best practice in child safeguarding, as well as better accountability to those who are using or benefiting from the services of an organization that works with children. Each standard outlines the key elements that should be put in place to keep children safe and lists the requirements needed to meet these standards.

Training UN Peacekeepers

Keeping Children Safe is proud to have delivered training sessions on child safeguarding and protection, as well as prevention of sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment. Our team travelled to Uruguay to lead this training session for the regional Human Security in Military Operations course, specifically designed for military personnel about to be deployed as UN Peacekeepers. This project is a partnership with the UK Ministry of Defense and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and part of our ongoing work on safeguarding children in the context of peacekeeping operations.
