Mission

An advocacy organization dedicated to globally raising awareness of the rare neuromuscular diseases known as Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy (LGMD). In collaboration with other LGMD foundations, our focus is to provide curated educational information and resources for the LGMD community and public. By increasing awareness of and advocating for individuals living with Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy, we hope to assist in advancing the diagnosis, care, and treatment for individuals around the world. We coordinate a worldwide LGMD Awareness Day annually on September 30th.

LGMD Awareness Day

Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy (LGMD) Awareness Day is a collaborative effort to globally raise awareness of the rare neuromuscular diseases known as limb-girdle muscular dystrophy. LGMD Awareness Day is celebrated annually on September 30th. Our focus is to provide curated educational information and resources for the LGMD community and the public.

By increasing awareness of and advocating for individuals living with LGMD, we hope individuals living with this progressively debilitating disease will have an easier time accessing diagnosis, care, and treatment around the world.
