What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Edwards Residential Programs offer several types of housing helping people who need us most. We believe in taking action with urgency in order to raise public awareness about some of the most pressing issues facing today’s society which is the increase in homelessness. To provide a range of supportive services and housing that empowers homeless families, who are survivors of domestic violence or other trauma to become independent, self-sufficient, and adequately housed; to foster low income housing opportunities to prevent homelessness and encourage safe, affordable housing. We provide housing to aged out fosterteens, middle aged individuals with mild mental illness, elderly and veterans . We provide private and semi private shared rooms in several Residential Homes in Tarrant County.

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Edwards Housing Incorporated

We started by distributing food and clothing to people living on the streets. As homelessness continued to grow nationwide, research revealed that Housing First—a best practice model that first connects people to permanent housing and then focuses on stabilization through voluntary supportive services, proved more effective. We provide services in 2 cities , and have more than 60 units of single occupancy and shared room housing provided to Veterans at risk for homelessness.

Across the state, we help people find single occupancy and shared rooms housing and outsource services such as case management, medical and mental healthcare, benefits advocacy, employment training, and other services to help them maintain their homes stability. Our organization has connected more than 100 people to single occupancy and shared room homes.
