Warrensburg Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization providing humane care and shelter for animals within Johnson County, Mo. Our mission is to sustain and expand animal welfare and shelter services throughout our rural county and assist other communities with limited resources.

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Low-Cost Microchipping

Warrensburg Animal Rescue provides a low-cost option for microchipping pets at our Old Drum Animal Shelter. We maintain an affordable option for people in the communities across Johnson County, Missouri, to obtain proper identification for their pet via microchips that do not require annual fees. Once chipped the animal will be registered by the shelter directly to the microchip company who maintains the database which may be accessed by any shelter, vet or other advocate who has access to a chip scanner. The database may be used to look up the unique identifying numbers for an animal that may have been lost and then found by someone other than the owner. This increases the probability that a pet will be reunited with its human.
