Mission

Dignity Grows provides monthly personal and feminine products to women, girls and individuals assigned female at birth, who cannot afford them.

Notes from the nonprofit

The Problem: Imagine having to choose between buying food or buying sanitary products for your period. Imagine having just used your last menstrual necessities, with no money to purchase more. Our Approach: Providing free menstrual and comprehensive hygiene products to neighbors in need in a manner that honors an individual’s dignity. For a gift of only $10 you can donate a Dignity Grows Tote to a neighbor in need, helping her to live life uninterrupted while safeguarding her dignity. After all, it’s the little things that make a big difference in people’s lives. Each Dignity Grows Tote is filled with a full-month supply of hygiene products and period necessities. The Totes are distributed through partner social service agencies that identify the need among their unique populations. Dignity Grows is achieving its mission in partnerships with over 40 local chapters nationally.

Dignity Grows

Dignity Grows is an early-stage non-profit that empowers our neighbors in need by removing obstacles to better self-esteem and health through the security and comfort of having personal and feminine hygiene essentials each and every month. Working with Distribution Partners throughout the local communities across the United States, Dignity Grows Chapters organize, assemble and distribute free of charge, reusable, branded zipper-top Dignity Totes filled with a month’s supply of personal and menstrual hygiene products. A program supported by the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford and the Jewish Federation of North America’s National Women’s Philanthropy, Dignity Grows is committed to helping Jewish Federations and other agencies across the country create local Dignity Grows chapters.
