Care Packages
412Thrive prides itself on providing quality care packages with items that are truly needed to make treatment and recovery a little easier. These items have been hand picked by local Thrivers who have been through these treatments and surgeries. We currently offer care packages for Chemotherapy, Radiation, or Mastectomy/Reconstruction Surgery. Target population: individuals going through chemotherapy, radiation or mastectomy/reconstruction surgery in our Southwestern Pennsylvania service area. Geographic focus: Southwestern Pennsylvania
Monthly Thriver Events
Each month, 412Thrive hosts an in-person social event where local Thrivers can engage in a fun activity, meet each other, share stories, and become a part of this always growing Tribe of individuals. 412Thrive is for individuals affected by breast cancer and genetic mutations that lead to breast cancer - all ages and all stages. This means that a breast cancer diagnosis is not required to join our Tribe. Whether you identify as a Previvor, Survivor, or Thriver, you are welcome here. Target population: individuals diagnosed with breast cancer, previvors with a genetic mutation that leads to cancer, who live within our Southwestern Pennsylvania service area. Geographic focus: Southwestern Pennsylvania
Virtual Support
Through our private "Thrivers" Facebook group, we have created a community of support where any question can be asked. The fourth Tuesday of each month, we host a Zoom virtual “Happy Hour” with the goal "come as you are, leave happier." Virtual peer-to-peer support ensures that every Thriver has access to the social interaction they need. Target population: individuals diagnosed with breast cancer, previvors with a genetic mutation that leads to cancer, who live within our Southwestern Pennsylvania service area. Geographic focus: Southwestern Pennsylvania
412Thrive Day
4/12 is a natural day to celebrate 412Thrive! Our inaugural 412Thrive Day was recognized by President Beverly Cwalina reading a proclamation from Allegheny County Council recognizing April 12, 2021 as 412Thrive Day in Allegheny County at Bombash & Earley, who produce natural bath products and were launching a line of products – “Sunflower Soul” – developed specifically for and to benefit 412Thrive. Similar proclamations were also made by Beaver, Butler, Washington, and Westmoreland County Commissioners.
We have big plans for community outreach in the future for 412Thrive Day!

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Facing a breast cancer or gene mutation that leads to cancer diagnosis is frightening. Individuals can greatly benefit from interacting with a group of people who care. 412Thrive exists to supplement a person’s own family and friends who may not be able to relate to their diagnosis and side effects of treatment. We give them a safe place to share their questions and fears and support them with items needed for recovery and healing.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
412Thrive is committed to operating under a comprehensive non-discrimination policy. We understand that breast cancer does not discriminate - anyone, female or male, can be diagnosed. We seek to serve the needs of anyone facing a breast cancer or genetic mutation that leads to cancer diagnosis. We are a diverse group ethnically with female and male, gay and straight, young and older age representation in both our board and Thriver populations.
