The Mitford Museum
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
The museum's nonprofit intent is to serve and support those living in Hudson, Caldwell County, and the region. We are doing this in multiple ways. The museum: • Supports economic development by bringing tourism to the area as fans travel to visit “Mitford.” We welcomed more than 600 visitors from 47 states and Scotland in the museum’s first six months. • Supports, inspires, and encourages the creative arts. We host GetLit!, an annual literary weekend with a writing contest for unpublished NC writers (youth and adult categories). We also have plans for a youth photography contest and will add other visual art as well as music categories to reward and encourage young NC artists. • Offers regular classes and workshops in creative endeavors such as writing, art, photography, and more. We are well situated to accomplish this with our location in the Hudson Uptown Building’s Art Center.
