We drive to various areas within Pasco county delivering meals, supplies, and services closer to where the homeless occupy. We provide hamburgers and sandwiches in lunch packages along with apples, bananas, oranges, chips, and cookies. We give them cold bottled water and Gatorade. As a standard, we provide supplies such as blankets, socks, underwear, shoes, shirts, pants, toilet paper, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, wipes, bathing wipes, first aid creams (e.g. anti-itch cream, Neosporin), Band-Aids, soap, shampoo, conditioner, feminine hygiene products (e.g. tampons, maxi-pads, poise pads), combs, bug spray, sheets, pillows, coats and jackets, tarp, tents, hats, sunblock, flashlights, bibles, books, backpacks, towels, and other items per request. We minister to people during the activity offering prayer to those on request. We ask if there are other services or help needed. We also try to help them with getting information on services and access where possible (e.g. getting certified ID, Medicare/Medicaid, VA, government phone). The meals are prepared by the board and volunteers. We provide face masks to the homeless for COVID purposes. Our board and volunteers bring food and handle the supplies for them to reduce handling and potential contagion. The clothing is rewashed by the board and volunteers after every event using our own personal equipment. The cleaning supplies and food service items are purchased using donated funds and board member investment.
