Mission

The Craig D. Butler (CDB) Scholarship Foundation was established to memorialize Craig D. Butler and deserving seniors in the inner city. CDB Scholarships’ mission is to provide financial assistance to African Americans in pursuit of higher education in the aftermath of gun violence. Our cardinal principle is to ensure that African Americans from underserved populations are not economically disadvantaged to receive a quality education.

CDB Scholarship Annual Award Program

CDB Scholarship in Philadelphia is an annual, merit-based award that focuses on instilling philanthropic values in ambitious, driven, goal-oriented individuals. The proceeds of this program will benefit African American college-bound high school seniors in Philadelphia. Our projected measurable outcome is to select two ambitious, goal-driven individuals out of the anticipated 20 applicants, that have exceeded the eligibility requirements (3.8 GPA or higher, AP courses, Community Service activities, etc.)and provide financial assistance to those individuals as a baseline of the annual award.
