Programs and results
What we aim to solve
The problem that I aim to address is to educate parents and teens about the damaging effects of today's pop culture. While attaining my college degree at California State University - Los Angeles, I worked in Hollywood as an actress in film and television. During my decade-long entertainment career, I began speaking to youth throughout the nation on the topic of media influence. Now that I am a mother of four, I have a burning desire to empower parents with the tools to counter the culture.

The Counter Culture Mom Show
The Counter Culture Mom Show (The CCM Show) was birthed during the pandemic. This show launched officially on June 20, 2021, a month after receiving our 501(c)(3) on May 17, 2021. Within six months, we were available on approximately a dozen TV platforms and all major podcast platforms.
Today, in 2024, we are available in over 700 million homes weekly on 20+ TV platforms, close to 600 radio stations such as American Family Radio and CSN, and SiriusXM on Family Talk Channel 131, with a 34 million paid subscriber reach.
The CCM Show explores the impact of the messages being promoted via popular video games, TV shows, movies, music, books, and social media on youth.
As the host of The Counter Culture Mom Show, I have the honor of interviewing well-known experts covering a wide range of topics critical to our youth, like suicide, bullying, homeschooling tips and tools, how to navigate social media safely, and more.
The Counter Culture Mom app
In addition to our CCM social media platforms, the Counter Culture Mom app became available in 2021 and includes the most current pop culture updates. It assists parents and grandparents in navigating today's entertainment through receiving daily Pop Culture Alerts and Trending News Stories. Anyone may download the Counter Culture Mom app and get a free parent media guide on our website CounterCultureMom.com. These two excellent resources provide current information to stay in the know regarding entertainment since pop culture is constantly changing, putting the power back in the parents' hands.

- We ask team members to identify racial disparities in their programs and / or portfolios.
- We employ non-traditional ways of gathering feedback on programs and trainings, which may include interviews, roundtables, and external reviews with/by community stakeholders.
- We have long-term strategic plans and measurable goals for creating a culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
- We seek individuals from various race backgrounds for board and executive director/CEO positions within our organization.
- We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
