Techie Labs

We partner with 15 to 20 schools. Students at these schools gain experience refurbishing equipment that AZ StRUT then donates to other schools and non-profits. AZ StRUT donates over $600,000 worth of equipment each year.

We present a 4-hour hands-on training session with computer hardware and operating systems. Learners tear down computers, rebuild them, and learn basic trouble shooting. All learners earn a refurbished computer to take home.

Students test, re-charge, measure Lithium Ion batteries for re-use

We accept all electronics - working or not - at our main location and partner locations such as Batteries Plus Bulbs stores. We sort all donated equipment to identify what can be refurbished, reused, repurposed and recycled. A local recycler processes all of our materials.

We distribute refurbished computers to schools and non-profits in Arizona. After reviewing their request and discussing their technology needs, we match them with available equipment. In 2020 we distributed 5,432 desktop and laptop computers. Since starting this program, AZ StRUT has refurbished and distributed over 70,000 computers.
