Mission

There are 2.3 million orphans in Uganda. And many are living with AIDS. So, how can anyone possibly make a difference? At Aidchild, we are strongly committed to saving lives in the only way that anyone can: One-by-one. One-at-a-time.

Our programs

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Aidchild was founded in November 2000 with an entire budget of $3,500. But TODAY:

We monthly serve 3,000 people living with AIDS through the Aidchild Microbiology Laboratory. These services are offered free-of-charge.

We have two centers and four sites; providing comprehensive inpatient care, psychosocial support and aggressive academic intervention for orphans living with AIDS who do not have the support of their extended families.

Our pilot site (in Masaka) is 100% self-sustained thanks to the income generated via Aidchild's Equation Café & Art Gallery, and thanks to the Aidchild Poultry and Produce Farms.

All of our children come to us with diagnoses of only one month to live, but in almost every case, we see complete reversal of that reality. Our kids have the real hope of a long, healthy lifetime.
