To provide and advocate for resources that will empower Kern County residents to become self-sufficient. The CAPK Foundation mission is to serve as the Philanthropic arm to Community Action Partnership of Kern by identifying funding gaps and addressing the needs of their programs and services.

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

M Street Navigation Center-Homeless Services

The center provides 150 beds to homeless individuals and provide shelter for overnight residents and walk-ins. It works with Kern Regional Homeless Collaborative, to connect residents with service providers, government agencies, advocacy groups, and businesses who provide supportive services to help homeless individuals obtain permanent housing and obtain whole person care. Some of the day services include mental health counseling; showers, medication education, refills, etc.; Diabetes care and education; Food Stamp applications; meals and nutrition support.M Street functionalities include more than being just a homeless shelter, but also as a low barrier navigation center. This includes accepting individuals with crime offenses or substance abuse users. They may visit the center and staff will assist in navigating them through the process of recovery.
