What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Fun With A Local
This program connects international community members new to town with locals who want to share all things Flagstaff / Northern Arizona. Locals get the opportunity to learn about a new culture, and folks new to town are able to make connections and new friends.
Culture Kitchen
Culture Kitchen is a program that features a different guest chef each month who teaches a recipe from their home country or culture. The recipe is taught over zoom so that you can make the dish at home along with our chef! Grab some friends or the kids and join us for a chance to learn not only an international recipe, but also learn about a new culture and country.
Conversation Groups
Conversation groups are informal get-togethers where native speakers and language learners can practice together. Practice includes games and activities to create a fun, low-stress atmosphere. All levels are welcome!
Language Exchange
This program takes place during the school year and connects you with university students in Mexico City who are learning English. You speak for 30 minutes in English and 30 minutes in Spanish, while helping each other learn a second language. This is a great way to practice your Spanish and learn about Mexican culture! Conversations take place over zoom. You sign up for sessions on an individual basis.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our Vision:
To create a more compassionate and interconnected community in which all members are respected and valued, through programs which facilitate reflection, critical analysis, and appreciation of different cultures and the humanities, and are accessible to all.
And to accomplish this vision through the following actions and initiatives:
Facilitate conversations through connecting people, both locally and globally, in order to break down stereotypes and miss held beliefs about other cultures and peoples.
Lift up and amplify voices that historically have been silenced so that we might hear their important messages, in order to foster a community based on equality, respect, and compassion for all peoples.
Address the isolation that many international community members experience while living in Northern Arizona.
Provide opportunities, resources, and space for independent scholars, educators, creators, and researchers, particularly in the humanities, to continue the important work they do outside of traditional systems, such as institutions of higher education, as opportunities at these institutions diminish.
Advocate for and collaborate with other nonprofits and humanities organizations, and facilitate connections amongst different organizations, businesses, and individual community members.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Targeted outreach to international community members through partner organizations.
Strategic partnerships with other nonprofits, community organizations, and individuals.
Solicitation of feedback from program participants.
Research community needs through attendance at Coconino County Diversity Council meetings, surveys, and funded research projects.
