Baby Care Love Bundle Programme

The Hazel Jansen Foundation developed the Baby Care Love Bundle Programme to provide new mums with all of the items necessary to safely transport and support their child in the critical first few years of life. By
partnering with local healthcare providers, we are able to understand the greatest needs of new mums in Hawai'i to nimbly make the most essential goods available. The various items provided through the Baby Care Love Bundle Programme may include strollers, NICU infant transport beds, child car seats that grow with baby (up to 100lbs), COVID-conscious clothing, diapers, wipes and more.

The Hazel Jansen Foundation initiated the Reach for Resources Programme because it is paramount that new mums can access trauma-informed support in real time. The searchable resource guide is formatted as an easy to use and intentionally curated network of free and low-cost services and resources to help new mums access the support necessary for healthy parenting. Each programme member has access to the included resources that are constantly updated, complied from across the state of Hawai'i and committed to utilizing the 5 Principles of Trauma Informed Care.

With every baby that is born, a mother is faced with the complex decision of choosing a feeding method. The Hazel Jansen Foundation recognizes the unique barriers that each mother might face while making this decision for themselves and their baby. While keeping the sentiment in mind that "supported is best", The Foundation has launched The Breastfeeding Programme to ensure that every mother is supported when they make the choice to breastfeed. The Breastfeeding Programme seeks to increase the longevity and exclusivity of breastfeeding by providing new mamas in hospital with immediate access to eco-friendly silicone breast pumps, breastmilk bags, nursing pads as well as a curated list of resources where a mama can access all of the free breastfeeding support on any Hawai'ian island. The Foundation is thrilled to announce that after our initial breastfeeding pilot project we will now be in several other hospitals across the state of Hawai'i.

The Hazel Jansen Foundation recognizes the income divide in Hawai'i has only increased amidst the ongoing pandemic, particularly affecting women and children. Nearly 40% of families headed by single mothers are living in abject poverty. The Hazel Jansen Foundation believes that every mother and child deserves access to high quality resources, support and education. This is why we have created multiple scholarships for mamas and their o'hana. The Hazel Jansen Foundation Scholarships were thoughtfully identified to provide selected mums with access to areas of personal development, family development and athletics such as the Hua Moom x Hazel Jansen Healthcare Equity Award or the Hazel Jansen Foundation Scholarship for BIPOC Lactation Consultants.
