What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Foster-to- Transport

Since 2018, our network of fosters have partnered with open-admission shelters to foster more than 2,000 cats & kittens until they could be transported out of state.

We foster those most likely to be euthanized because they take several weeks to be ready for the adoption floor:
• Kittens (0- 8 weeks) face a high risk of euthanasia because of the time and effort required to care for these neonates until they are old enough to be adopted.
• Cats and kittens with underlying medical issues such as ringworm, scabies, URI or other acute but treatable and survivable conditions are at significant risk for euthanasia because of inadequate staff or quarantine space to treat the animals.

Foster homes provide the critical bridge between a transport spot and a receiving partner out-of-state who will accept the cat. Without a foster home for the cats to complete their minimum 2 week quarantine, they would not be eligible to transport.
